The winemaker

In the heart of Provence, at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail, our 9-hectare estate is divided between two prestigious appellations: Vacqueyras and Gigondas. Restanque is the Francization of the Provençal restanco, a term used in Lower Provence to literally designate a dry-stone retaining wall built in the bed of an intermittent torrent to create a terrace for cultivation. In 2007, we took the plunge and created our own winery. Our first vintage came out the same year. Our grapes are hand-picked, and sorted directly on the plot by our pickers. After using integrated vineyard management and mostly mechanical tillage, our estate is now taking a new approach and moving towards organic farming. In 2012, our wines were certified organic by ECOCERT.
