The winemaker

Since the 2004 vintage, Mas Theo materialized its commitment and respect for the vineyard by labeling his work in organic farming. The certification is done with ECOCERT. Since the 2007 vintage, the wine can claim the word "organic wine". The vineyard is based on a rather exceptional terroir. Its soil is composed of pebbles on the surface (formerly Rhone beach in the Quaternary) with a clay subsoil deeper or shallower. Mistral accompanies the vines throughout the year. For the 2008 campaign, new vines have completed the current range. Indeed, Laurent Clapier parents gave him after retirement manage their vineyard (formerly managed in cooperation). This helped make wine and new wines to complement the range including the white selections and a vintage pink. This new 32-hectare vineyard is based on a clay and limestone soil with some more sandy areas. The planting of these vines will strengthen the dominant Syrah and Grenache, but also bring new elements: Marsanne, Viognier, Roussanne AOP Grignan Les Adhemar, and Chardonnay wine in France. Of course, these vines are grown in the same spirit of the area between tradition and modernity with the organic certification by Ecocert. A new plot selection is being farmed. It is composed of old parcels of Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syraph planted by the grandfather Louis Clapier. All development were carried out with the hand of man phases of the vine growing through the collection and vinification in barrels with punching down.
