The winemaker

The Tour de Béraud is a 14th-century fire tower built on the southern slope of the Costière. It overlooks the vast Beaucaire plain, which stretches as far as Aigues Mortes in the Mediterranean. As a link in the defensive network connecting the Camargue to the Rhône Valley, it was used to observe and prevent invasions. The château's vineyards are planted on terraces and hillsides close to the tower. Its soils of stony alluvium, rolled pebbles and clay-limestone marl were deposited by the Rhône glacier in the Quaternary period. Terroir and climate provide wines with aromatic richness, balance and freshness. Pure and elegant, La Tour de Béraud wines are made from the noble grape varieties of the Rhône Valley.
