Created in 1986, Frank Phélan, the Château's second wine, is named after the son of Bernard Phélan, founder of the estate. Frank Phélan comes from 15 hectares of old vines and a selection of vines less than ten years old. It respects the classic values of the Château while expressing another facet of its terroir. Frank Phélan combines greedy, intense, crisp fruit with an elegant structure and silky tannins.

Appearance
Dense, dark garnet-red color, tending toward violet in its youth.
Aroma
The bouquet reveals notes of blackcurrant, violet, mocha, vanilla, spices and licorice.

Taste
St-Estèphe wines have full-bodied tannins and therefore mature more slowly than most other Medocs. They offer black fruits, a note of freshness, often a woody or smoky aspect and a floral touch.
