La griffe is just 300 meters from domaine villeneuve. Domaine Villeneuve's Claw 2020 is a blend of 60% Grenache Noir, 20% Mourvèdre and 20% Syrah. The vineyard is relatively steep, resting on red clay and the region's classic pebbles. The vines, barely 50 years old, produce low yields of around 25 hl per hectare. Dense purple with delicate violet hues, blackcurrant, elderberry and blackberry give a highly concentrated black berry attack. Fig and blackberry join in. In the background, tomato and beet become louder and louder. Juniper, pepper and dark chocolate follow. A hint of strongly roasted coffee floats through the air. Graphite and iron are discreetly perceptible. As the temperature rises, it reveals its Mediterranean attributes in the form of thyme, rosemary and black olive. The attack on the palate immediately reveals its elegance and aromatic depth. Juicy, highly drinkable and brimming with filigree. Contrary to its dark appearance on the nose, it reveals itself to be slender and dances with lightness. Acidity guides it pleasantly. Like a red thread, the aromas of the nose follow one another and arrive quietly at a discreet finish. The appellation Côtes-du-Rhône is part of the region of Vallée du Rhône from France which include Domaine De Villeneuve and its 2 cuvées. Spread over The Rhone Valley and its rich, complex terroirs. The region is divided into two distinct subregions: Northern Rhone (known as Rhône Septentrional) and Southern Rhone (Rhône Méridional). In the former we find strong wines in beautiful colours with warm, spicy notes, produced by vineyards that stretch 4,700 ha along the Rhone. The latter, with an area of 71,000 ha, is much more important, and this is evident of course in its annual production of red, rosé and white wines quite unlike those of the Northern Rhone., this region is 3 million hectolitres per year of red wines, rosés, dry and sparkling white wines, and natural sweet wine..
