In 1978, michèle aubéry-laurent and philippe laurent bought 12 hectares of old vines in montbrison, forming the domaine de gramenon. The estate, located in the Drôme region of France, became famous for its rich, fruity and dense Grenache wines. Sulfur-free vinification has produced mixed results, and the aromatic clarity of certain cuvées has sometimes been debatable. In recent vintages, however, the wines have gained in precision. We encourage you to discover them, especially the cuvée made from very old vines, called ceps centenaires. On the bangs of the domaine, Maxime-François Laurent, son of Michèle Aubéry, now produces the cuvée Il fait soif. Domaine Gramenon's Cuvée La Mémé is made from two parcels of very old Grenache vines (120 years old), planted with biodynamic massal selection. This is the domaine's flagship cuvée. The nose reveals delicious notes of fresh red fruits (strawberries, raspberries), flowers, spices and a hint of licorice. The palate is extremely refined, with a silky, delicately perfumed texture. The finish is long and fresh. A great wine!

The appellation Côtes-du-Rhône is part of the region of Vallée du Rhône from France which include Domaine Gramenon and its 45 cuvées. Spread over The Rhone Valley and its rich, complex terroirs. The region is divided into two distinct subregions: Northern Rhone (known as Rhône Septentrional) and Southern Rhone (Rhône Méridional). In the former we find strong wines in beautiful colours with warm, spicy notes, produced by vineyards that stretch 4,700 ha along the Rhone. The latter, with an area of 71,000 ha, is much more important, and this is evident of course in its annual production of red, rosé and white wines quite unlike those of the Northern Rhone., this region is 3 million hectolitres per year of red wines, rosés, dry and sparkling white wines, and natural sweet wine..
