In a few words ...

"aoc côtes-du-rhône is an appellation d'origine contrôlée located on the banks of the rhône between vienne and avignon. Its production area covers a large part of the Rhone Valley vineyards, as it is a regional appellation in which many other appellations exist. Vintage 2019: the 2017 vintage produced record-breaking weather conditions, resulting first and foremost in a particularly early harvest. It was also one of the smallest harvests of the last forty years, with average yields of 19 hl/ha. The old vines reacted very well and didn't suffer so much, producing well-balanced wines with silky tannins and excellent fruit definition. Vinification: Hand-picked with sorting in the vineyard and then in the cellar. 80% and 20% whole bunch eraflage, followed by fermentation in concrete and stainless steel vats using indigenous yeasts. Aging: 90% in demi-muids (600l) (30% of 1 wine and 70% of 7 wines) and 10% in amphoras. Tasting notes: this wine has a lovely crimson-red color with madder highlights. The nose is delicate, with aromas of blackberry jam. The palate is beautiful, dense, rich in structure and substance, yet suave with smooth, elegant tannins. It is dominated by red fruits combined with roasted cocoa beans. Beautiful smoothness. Food & wine pairings: matured Galician rib-eye steak - rack of lamb with Provence herbs - roast kid with Tarbais beans".
