In a few words ...

clementin de pape clément, second wine of chateau pape clément, is owned by bernard magrez. More affordable than its predecessor, it is also a great tasting experience, and is served at some of France's finest Michelin-starred restaurants. It is a blend of only 2 grape varieties: 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. The communes of Pessac belong to the large Graves production area. The poor, gravelly soil produces very delicate, full-bodied, fruity wines.
The 1987 vintage was correct. The summer was very hot, but heavy rainfall during the harvest made this a difficult vintage. The winemakers had to select the bunches. The wines were fruity, elegant and supple.
