The delicacy of Côte Chalonnaise wines is on display. Woody, vanilla and brioche aromas will delight your taste buds. In the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise, the appellation's vineyards stretch across the amphitheatrical hillsides of 4 communes, including Montagny-lès-Buxy. A 301-hectare appellation devoted exclusively to Chardonnay, it is said to belong to the Mercurey terroir, as a testimony to its nobility in white. It was the Romans who introduced viticulture to the region, and from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance, people spoke of the appellation "Côte de Buxy". The vineyards are planted on clay-limestone soils with marly tendencies, derived from the Jurassic Lias and Triassic. It is planted on the relatively steep, south-south-east-facing slopes of the surrounding hillsides, at an altitude of between 280 and 380 meters.
