The rivesaltes aoc covers 5180 hectares planted with grenache noir for the reds and grenache blanc, grenache gris and macabeu. In their youth, the reds have candied fruit and citrus aromas.
The 1976 vintage produced wines that were often rich in alcohol and dry. The high temperatures and lack of water produced sugar, but blocked the ripening of the tannins.
