The 2017 vintage is shaping up to be one of the most promising in recent years, with particularly elegant, harmonious wines with superb aromatic concentration, suggesting very interesting ageing potential! However, weather conditions did not make our teams' task any easier during the harvest. The harvest, marked by scorching spring temperatures and a lack of rain, began in some appellations 10 days early on average. Although these hot, dry weather conditions led to a particularly small harvest in terms of quantity, the quality is well up to scratch.

The appellation Côtes-du-Rhône is part of the region of Vallée du Rhône from France which include Maison Gabriel Meffre and its 21 cuvées. Spread over The Rhone Valley and its rich, complex terroirs. The region is divided into two distinct subregions: Northern Rhone (known as Rhône Septentrional) and Southern Rhone (Rhône Méridional). In the former we find strong wines in beautiful colours with warm, spicy notes, produced by vineyards that stretch 4,700 ha along the Rhone. The latter, with an area of 71,000 ha, is much more important, and this is evident of course in its annual production of red, rosé and white wines quite unlike those of the Northern Rhone., this region is 3 million hectolitres per year of red wines, rosés, dry and sparkling white wines, and natural sweet wine..
