The Wine I LoveEstimated delivery between 4 and Apr 5,
A true concentrate of Islay, Big Peat brings together in one expression the best of this iconic island. In its 12-year-old version, Big Peat reconciles the ardor of Ardbeg, the very distinct character of the rare Port Ellen, the iodized notes of Caol Ila and the spicy notes typical of Bowmore maturation. With this range, Remarkable Regional Malts, Douglas Laing has perfectly captured the spirit of an indomitable island. A gourmand, smoky peat, available only in small batch.
Appearance
Straw gold color.
Aroma
Definitely Islay on the nose. Precise notes of liquorice stick. Ashy, fireplace. Becomes very medicinal, clove. Peat kiln and roasted malted barley. Varnish note. Warm tar.
Taste
Concentrated peat mouthfeel! In turn, tar, fuel oil, camphor, eucalyptus, menthol. Evokes hot tires. Persistent finish on still-warm asphalt, vegetal note.
