The winemaker

It was over dinner in 1989 that two cousins, Martin Shaw and Michael Hill Smith, renowned wine professionals, decided to make a long-held dream come true: to produce their own wines. Their choice fell on Adelaide Hills, with its hilly vineyards and temperate climate, capable of producing the cuvées they imagined: modern, aromatic and fresh wines. The two cousins have just celebrated their twentieth vintage, and the gamble has more than paid off: as one of the undisputed leaders in their region, their Sauvignon Blanc has become a model of its kind, since joined by splendid cuvées of Chardonnay and Shiraz that share the same characteristics of intensity, clarity and deliciousness.
