Grant Burge, 5th in line, did a great deal in the 1980s to establish the estate's reputation and refine the style of his wines. In particular, he was a pioneer in preserving old vines, which had long been destined to be uprooted. Today, with the 6th generation about to take over, Grant Burge is a well-established, medium-sized estate, very popular in the Barossa, one of Australia's finest wine-growing regions, known among other things for its very old Syrahs.
