In a few words ...

"1996 vintage: very early budburst. A dry but cool spring led to flowering in early June. A fine, hot July and a hot, stormy August brought the grapes to full ripeness in the first dekad of September. A rainy fortnight then favors botrytis contamination. Aging: vinified and aged in barrels for 3 years.Tasting notes: a lovely golden-orange, coppery color.a slightly discreet nose at first, but then we discover all the freshness and elegance of the vintage. A dominant of acacia, broom and candied lemon, quickly enveloped by candied and roasted orange aromas, with a final touch of spice and cinnamon. The palate opens with a lovely, slightly creamy volume, and a sweetness that quickly fades in the face of freshness and vivacity, before a slightly saline finish with a gentle bitterness.Stewed and candied fruit (lemon), quince paste, apricot skin mingle with refreshing flavors before a lightly toasted, finely spiced aftertaste of almond and cinnamon. A perfect balance in which sweetness is completely forgotten in favor of freshness and gentle bitterness. This wine is perfect for the table, from oysters to white meats in sauce or creamy dishes".
