The wines of the cote de blaye are supple, round and well-balanced, with fine, silky tannins and a solid structure.
The overly mild winter of 2001 was followed by a rainy July. The vintage was late, with harvests lasting until mid-October. The diversity of this vintage makes it necessary to be selective in terms of estates. The St Emilions and Pessac Léognans are perfect. The Bordeaux sweet wines are exceptional.
