Wine information vincent rochette's visan marius rouge is a cuvée made from 80% grenache and 20% syrah. The 60-year-old vines are planted in a three-hectare, very dry vineyard in Visan, marked by clay and limestone. The proportion of rock is 60% and the yield around 25 hl per hectare. The wine is fermented spontaneously and aged for twelve months in 50 hectoliter tronçais oak barrels. opaque garnet-red nose vincent rochette's marius 'le père mayeux' is a fragrant, concentrated visan. The attack is made up of sweet yeast components and sweet cherries, candied violets and a touch of cinnamon prune compote. Hints of bresaola, chili and chocolate follow. The wine seems ripe, juicy and round. The juiciness is then confirmed on the gamay palate, where the marius combines the fruit and spices already mentioned with austere notes of fermented cardamom, dried herbs and a little latakia tobacco. The tannin is ripe, firm and present, the acidity clear and fresh through to the long, juicy, slightly bitter finish. The appellation Côtes-du-Rhône-Villages Visan is part of the region of Vallée du Rhône from France which include Domaine Roche-Audran and its 1 cuvées. Spread over The Rhone Valley and its rich, complex terroirs. The region is divided into two distinct subregions: Northern Rhone (known as Rhône Septentrional) and Southern Rhone (Rhône Méridional). In the former we find strong wines in beautiful colours with warm, spicy notes, produced by vineyards that stretch 4,700 ha along the Rhone. The latter, with an area of 71,000 ha, is much more important, and this is evident of course in its annual production of red, rosé and white wines quite unlike those of the Northern Rhone., this region is 3 million hectolitres per year of red wines, rosés, dry and sparkling white wines, and natural sweet wine..
