The egly-jouet champagne house was founded after 1945 with just a few hectares of vines. Future generations acquired a further 9 hectares. Francis égly's vision is summed up by a phrase: "vines are like horses: if you want to master them, you have to breed them". A good horseman and breeder, this producer has a vineyard approaching 40 years of age, built by his family around remarkable massal selections, the source of the rare flavor of his grapes and therefore of his champagnes. Over three generations, the family has built up a heritage of Grand Cru vineyards in Bouzy, Verzenay and above all Ambonnay, in the heart of the terroir. In premier cru, they have pinot meunier on the terroir of vrigny, in the marne valley. Contrary to the trend for champagne to be sold younger and younger, francis égly, following in the footsteps of his father michel, has patiently built up a treasure trove that enables him to market his bruts after four years' ageing, and his vintage wines after six years. All wines are vinified in barrels (since 1995), without malolactic fermentation (since 1999), to preserve their freshness. The
