The winemaker

Domaine Sick-Dreyer is in the middle of a vineyard, in the Colmar region. The first mentions of the Sick family indicate that its first wines date back to 1563. Since then, many things have changed. Traction animal mechanization in vineyards and old wooden press in a pneumatic press, we have developed and tested the best techniques. In the cellar, we were the old and new: we use in fact, both wooden barrels and stainless steel drums with removable ceiling which allows us to better manage the evolution of our wines. In 1966, after working for many years with his uncle Rene Sick Pierre Dreyer inherited the estate of his uncle and vineyards from her parents. Thus was born the Sick-Dreyer Domain. In 2001, his son Stephen decided to take over and go in search of new markets for its white wines. Today, we cultivate 13 hectares of vineyards around the village of Ammerschwihr and we export to several countries such as Italy, Denmark, the UK or even Singapore. But one thing has never changed during the 450 "and a few" years of our history: the love we have for our land and our wines. So we work our vines growing, with respect for nature and its rhythms.
