The winemaker

With its 7.5 hectares of vines, Château de Champ-Renard benefits from good south-east exposure and diversified siliceous, granitic and clay-limestone soils, which bring great diversity to the estate's wines. The vineyard, planted mainly before 1939, has a low planting density. Our estate is in the process of converting to organic farming and our wines are certified Terra Vitis and HVE3 (Haute Valeur Environnementale level 3), certifications recognized by the French Ministry of Agriculture - which guarantee the cultivation of vines and winemaking methods that respect our environment and health. Respect for the biological life of the soil, tillage and grassing, manual harvesting when ripe, rational control of vine diseases, are all good practices to bring quality grapes to the Domaine's wines. Our old vines are 60 years old on average, giving fruity, well-structured wines with good body. We favor long maceration and ageing. Several of our cuvées are aged in oak barrels, and one of our wines, "Le Vin de ma mémé, simplement nature", is sulfite-free. Our wines are also certified EVE VEGAN®, which guarantees products without ingredients of animal origin. Our approach is of course aimed at vegan, vegan and vegetarian consumers who do not wish to consume an animal product, but also at people allergic to albumin or casein.
