The winemaker

Producer of AOC Fleurie and Brouilly on the Domaine de la Grand' Cour, Jean-Louis Dutraive is a winemaker who follows an organic ethic, harvesting by hand and vinification without sulfur. No chemical fertilizers or weedkillers are used, and the wine is aged in oak barrels and casks. His father, Jean Dutraive, bought the estate in 1969, and Jean-Louis joined him in 1977, eventually succeeding him in 1989. Today, Domaine de la Grand'Cour is a benchmark in Beaujolais, with fine, complex wines that are highly expressive of the terroir on which they are grown with the Gamay grape variety.
