Château Beauregard is located in the commune of Pomerol, a stone's throw from Saint Emilion, north-east of Libourne. Pomerol is one of the smallest appellations in Bordeaux, with only 800 hectares of vines, but it is no less prestigious. Château Beauregard is one of the largest Pomerol properties.
The history of Beauregard dates back to the 12th century, to the time of the Knights Hospitallers of Saint John of Jerusalem, to whom we owe the famous Templar Cross, the emblem of Beauregard. However, it was not until five centuries later that the first building was constructed, and then replaced in the Napoleonic era by the current castle. The Girondine Carthusian building is surrounded by a moat and overlooked by two magnificent dovecotes. From there, your view extends over a park whose designer was a pupil of Victor Louis, architect of the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux. In the middle of the 18th century, Château Beauregard switched from mixed farming to wine growing. Today it enjoys a prestigious reputation for its production of Pomerol wines.
The vineyard of Château Beauregard stretches along the south-eastern edge of the Pomerol plateau. The soil is clay and sand, with gravel predominating. The vines represent 17.5 hectares, comprising 35 plots where Merlot and Cabernet Franc are grown. The whole estate is cultivated organically, which allows us to maintain a lively underground fauna that ensures the balance of the soil and therefore of the grapes. Trees and shrubs are voluntarily maintained on the estate, which allows the subsistence of a useful fauna for the fight against vine pests.
Château Beauregard grows 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. Since 2016, 4% Cabernet Sauvignon has been added, but it will not enter the blends for a few years. The estate offers 3 red wines:

Château Beauregard
Château Beauregard is a dense and compact wine. Its fruity aromas are exceptional and its long finish in the mouth allows you to enjoy all the nuances of a great wine. The 30% Cabernet Franc in its composition brings both freshness and depth. It makes a good wine to keep and drink with your game in sauce, as well as crusty cheeses. The Benjamin de Beauregard
Benjamin de Beauregard is the freshest wine of the estate. The result of a blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc, its ruby red colour sparkles and foreshadows its fruity bouquet, dominated by strawberry aromas. Benjamin de Beauregard is made from young vines and some sandy plots. It is best drunk young and goes well with grilled meats. On the cheese side, it has no equal for enhancing goats, fresh or dry, as well as sheep's milk cheeses.Le Pavillon de Beauregard
Pavillon de Beauregard is a very fruity wine with very round flavours. It is long on the palate and goes well with light starters, as well as with creamy desserts or pies of all kinds.
