The winemaker

Today run by Cécile Mallié-Verdier and Thierry Mallié, Château Brethous has existed since at least the 17th century. The vineyard extends over 16 hectares of clay-limestone hills covered with gravel, with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Cabernet Franc grape varieties. Château Brethous produces 5 cuvées, including friendly wines (Clairet, B de Brethous) and fleshy, tannic reds (Cuvée Classique, Cuvée Prestige, Arpège) to accompany fine cuts of meat.
