The winemaker

The whole history of Chateau Cantenac Brown begins in the early 19th century. A Scottish wildlife painter John Lewis Brown, bought the vineyard in order to install a Tudor castle. The area was soon known for his extravagant parties. But it ends in 1843, when he sold the castle to Grommard banker to pay his debts. It is the banker that will allow the area to become 3rd classified growth in 1855. Today is the Halabi family is at the head of the field, with the ambition to lead the top-level. Without being certified organic farming, the family of Château Cantenac Brown makes a point of honor to work in the vineyard and the cellar in the most respectful way possible, in order to highlight the exceptional terroir of Margaux. The wines produced by Chateau are balanced, fine and refined, with this power and finesse that made the brand famous wine. The farms are precise, and perfectly controlled assemblies. Whether with their range of fun "Brio", or high-end vintage "Château Cantenac Brown", the area offers us bottles filled with emotion.
