The winemaker

The legend, attested by many ancient remains, is that the current Cissac castle, a magnificent monastery from the 18th century, was built on the remains of a Roman villa. The culture of the vine is certainly, certainly, a centuries-old family tradition. The property is indeed now run by Marie Vialard, a direct descendant of Jacques Mondon, acquired the domain in 1895, and Louis Vialard, who gave it back all its nobility in the middle of the twentieth century. Château Cissac is anchored in the heart of the Médoc. Its privileged terroir neighboring prestigious Saint-Estèphe and Pauillac, covering a hundred hectares. Mainly consisting of sand serious covering a clay and limestone, it extends integrally protected by the town of Cissac and forests that surround it. True to tradition the Médoc, the vineyard is mainly planted in Cabernet Sauvignon, its historical variety. Perfectly adapted to the typical characteristics of the terroir of Cissac, it expresses all its power and its flavors. Assembled by the fineness of Merlot, and Petit Verdot spices, CABERNET SAUVIGNON particularly complex and expressive wines. Respect the laws of cl imat, the identity of the soil, the type of grape varieties, and the tradition of the vine: these precepts are the backbone of the conduct of the field. But to enjoy the intrinsic values ​​of its vineyards, and allow wines to express their most intense to reveal, Château Cissac works hard to improve continuously the quality of its production.
