The winemaker

In the eighteenth century, Villegeorge particulèrement wines are recognized for their quality, so much so that their prices are comparable to wines that will be ranked on the 3rd place in 1855. In 1880, the estate was bought by the Clauzel family, making it a model vineyard. When one of the Bordeaux brokers Committee determines the classification of Cru Bourgeois in 1932, Villegeorge distinguished Cru Exceptional. Its classification was confirmed in 1966. The quality of its deep bass does not escape Lucien Lurton, who acquires this thought in 1973 and began his rehabilitation. When sharing its properties in 1992, he says Villegeorge his daughter, Marie-Laure. Oenologist, it already vinifies this area since 1986. In 1997, a first tranche of work allows the expansion of the chest and the installation of a sewage treatment plant. In late 2007, business continues to allow the expansion of the barrel cellar, the modernization of the harvest reception and finally the construction of a reception hall. In 2003, Terra Vitis certification recognizes compliance with the specifications of the rational protection of the vineyard, established by Emilia Roullé, Technical Director since 1999. Since then, every vintage has obtained approval Terra Vitis. The vineyard of 12.32 hectares is located in the town of Avensan. The plots consist of deep bass, particularly favorable to obtaining wines. Every step of production is carefully tailored to each plot. The floor, the basement, outdoor exposure are all parameters that are taken into account when planting.
