The winemaker

The Chateau Haut-Lagrange is located 15 kilometers south of Bordeaux, in the commune of Léognan, in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation Graves. It is surrounded by several great Crus of Graves. When planting the vineyard, Francis Boutemy, optimizing the full knowledge of the Graves terroir he has seen evolve over the decades, has listened to the advice of the best specialists of the vine and wine and set up technical traditional culture with a performance equipment. He further selected grape varieties, rootstocks and clones best suited to the geological characteristics of the soil. Soil having a remarkable natural drainage through a layer of uniformly distributed Grave composed of sand, gravel, pebbles, gravel exceptional quartz, quartzite ochres, white, pink ... by Jasper, flint, Lydian. Basement: Compound of sand, clay, iron pan, limestone and faluns tertiary era.
