The winemaker

It is in the heart of médoquin terroir - 7km from St Laurent-Medoc in the locality of Semignan - lies the Château Julia. The property produces two recognized appellations are Pauillac AOC AOC Haut Médoc. Chateau Julia is not a wine like no other. Indeed, the field has chosen - in counter traditional patterns - making Merlot-dominated wines in the composition of varieties. The wine out of oak barrels and wine is drunk young with fruity flavors and rounded palate. After several years in wine cooperative as his parents, grandparents and great grandparents, Sophie Martin decided in 2009 to start a winery in particular activity. Alone, she moved into the old family barn. The operation aims to craft and "human scale": the grapes are sorted on foot, the pegging is handmade and winemaking in the plot to make the most of the vine. The first 2009 vintage was sold in 2011.
