The winemaker

In 1882, Mr. Rouchut Mauleon-great-great grandfather Denis Durantou meets different parcels of Clos of the Church and the domain Clinet, acquired from the 18th century by his family to be a vineyard of 4.5 hectares around the Church of St. John of Pomerol. The wines of the Eglise Clinet have exceptional aging potential and are considered in recent vintages, at Petrus. Indeed, visionary and talented winemaker Denis Durantou brought this property to the top of the appellation. This area of ​​4.5 hectares is located on the plateau of Pomerol. The soil is composed of clay and without serious excess water through the natural slopes of the plots and the Centennial network of drains. With its old vines over 40 years, the exciting Denis Durantou vinified wines in order to bring out the complexity of the soil and the quality of the fruit picked at its optimum phenolic maturity. Reduced yields explain this great Pomerol is produced in very limited quantities.
