The winemaker

Near the confluence of the Dordogne and Isle, the Château La Vieille Forge is protected on its southwest flank by Fronsac mound. The soil is clay. From old alluvium, the basement has significant traces of iron oxide, which is called "iron oxide" terroir that is also found in Pomerol. For decades, the Lavaud family is dedicated to the development of family wine heritage distributed on the best soils.
