The winemaker

The history of the Château Mazeyres estate

The Château Mazeyres vineyard, located within the Pomerol appellation, has undergone significant and highly ambitious development. Since 1992, when Alain Moueix took over the management of the estate, the vineyard has grown from 8.5 to 25, hectares. This expansion has enabled us to better adapt our grape varieties. With his experience, Alain Moueix has brought his know-how, rigor and passion to give the estate the prestige it enjoys today.

Characteristics of the Château Mazeyres terroir and vineyard

The vineyard's "light" soils are mainly clay and gravel. It is thanks to the richness and meticulous cultivation of the soils that Château Mazeyres has earned its reputation for the richness and high quality of its wine production.

The wines of the Château Mazeyres estate

The Château Mazeyres vineyard is made up of three main grape varieties. The majority of wines are Merlot, at 73%. This is followed by Cabernet Franc, produced at 25%, and Petit Verdot, which accounts for just over 2% of the estate's production.
