The winemaker

Divided into two parts, this vineyard, the majority of which faces west of Saint-Émilion, is planted on a vein of land that produces Saint-Émilion's most prestigious crus. Château Montlabert adjoins this vineyard to the east, Château Figeac to the west, and the no less famous Château Cheval Blanc to the north. It is widely assumed that this estate was linked to Château Montlabert, a magnificent 18th-century neo-classical manor house located just 250 meters from the current estate. Indeed, official documents citing the Cazes family, owners for several centuries, mention adjoining outbuildings used separately as lodgings or stables. Various sales over time may have divided the structure, notably a sale in 1862 by the administrators of the Libourne commune. Subsequently, it would appear that the property we know today as Millaud Montlabert was acquired by the Bordes family in 1872. It changed ownership in 1919 with the Millaud family, who marketed their harvest and thus added their name to the Château.
