The winemaker

In the 19th century the castle was Rauzan-Segla considered alongside Monton Rothschild as the best 2nd Cru Classé. But while fortune prosperous Mouton in the 20th century, Rauzan-Segla reputation loses its aura. The estate was sold in the 80s and beginning its rebirth. The eminent Professor Peynaud is taken as consultant and from Cabernet Sauvignon is increased, like that of new tanks. In 1986 a new cellar was built. A succession of highly successful wines led the field to be bought by Chanel in 1994. There are now 45 hectares of vines in Rauzan Ségla.
