The winemaker

Lucy and Antoine Touton decides to buy the St. Barbara Castle in 2000, seduced by the beauty of the monastery built by Jean-Baptiste Lynch at the end of the eighteenth century, and excited a double challenge: to restore the property to its former glory lost and make its wines, formerly best known in Bordeaux, the best in their name. The battle for quality is won first in the vineyard. The 30 hectares of Château Sainte-Barbe overwhelmingly Merlot on a soil swelling clays, are the subject of constant care, drainage, increased leaf area, small yields. Gold medals in competitions of Bordeaux, Brussels and Los Angeles, stars Hachette guides are regular recognition of the quality of work performed.
