The winemaker

The family of Sigalas, is an old Gascony family with Councilors Parliament of Bordeaux, an officer who waged war for American independence (Cincinnati) two mayors of Bazas ... In 1863, Henry Sigalas Rabaud acquires Castle. It takes its name Sigalas-Rabaud. With 14 ha in one piece is the smallest of the first raw, incredibly homogeneous and compact. Placed in the center, the mansion is surrounded by the cellar and outbuildings. Sigalas Rabaud is less than 500 meters from Château d'Yquem. Planted only in the South on a slight slope, the vines grow on the famous terrace of Sauternes. On a clay base, the ground gritty sand brought by the Garonne from 600,000 years favors a perfect supply of the vine. North West sinks the Ciron, a small river in cold waters that favor botrytis cinérea.
