The winemaker

The history of Maison Kressmann


Édouard Kressmann settled in Bordeaux in 1858, where he joined a wine trading house. In 1871, he founded Maison Ed. Kressmann & Cie. He set up partnerships with various estates, including Château La Pierrière (AOC Castillon - Côtes de Bordeaux). In 1897, Edouard Kressmann launched Kressmann Monopole Dry, the oldest Bordeaux brand still on the market today. In 1930, Édouard Kressmann's heirs bought Château Latour-Martillac (AOC Pessac-Léognan). In the 40s and 50s, Édouard Junior developed the wine trade within the company. Since 1960, Maison Kressmann has managed the distribution of Château La Commanderie (Cru Bourgeois - AOC Saint-Estèphe). In 1967, it joined forces with Dourthe Frères. The company expanded further with the distribution of Lagrave-Martillac (Château Latour-Martillac's second wine). In 2007, it became part of the Alain Thienot champagne group. Since 2011, Maison Kressmann has further expanded with Château Sissan.

Maison Kressmann works in partnership with various established châteaux in the Bordeaux region. It specializes in blending. Maison Kressmann offers wines bearing the Agriculture Biologique label. We work with renowned oenologists to offer original blends of the highest quality.

- Kressmann Monopole Rouge
Kressmann Monopole Rouge comes from the best terroirs of the "Côtes". It is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. It is a very well-balanced, fine and powerful wine.

- Delor Nature
Delor Nature is an organic Bordeaux red wine. Its blend is composed of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Very fruity, it is dominated by red fruit aromas.
