In a few words ...

"nobility as a signature". Château Pichon Longueville marks the entrance to the commune of Pauillac with its imposing stature. The birth of the château in 1850 was the result of a division of inheritance between baron raoul and his three sisters, to whom château pichon-longueville comtesse de lalande would revert. The following year, baron raoul built the majestic neo-renaissance château.adjoining château latour, the vineyard stretches across the high plateau linking pauillac and saint-julien. Since 1987, axa millésime has been the owner of the estate, and was responsible for major renovations that led to the installation of new winery facilities, now among the most modern in Bordeaux. Since these renovations, the 19th-century château has been magnified by a mirror of water beneath which hide the barrel cellars used to mature wines in the image of Pauillac?s premier grands crus. The construction of the latter was not just a matter of aesthetics. For the production of this great wine, the successive owners have chosen to exploit the oldest parcel of land on the estate. Located on the Pichon Baron hillock, which was already harvested in 1964, it still brings remarkable structure and tannins to this 2nd cru classé. Château pichon-longueville wines require 10 years of cellar ageing to express their full character: structured, fruity, with occasional hints of chocolate and spice.
