La robe des Pomerols est le plus souvent rubis foncé et des reflets violets dans sa jeunesse et une apparition de teintes briques avec le vieillissement.
Aroma
Le bouquet est souvent très riche et complexe sur des notes de fruits noirs et rouges. On notera aussi la présence d'empyreumatiques avec du cuir, de la torréfaction et une pointe vanillée.
