In a few words ...
The first vintage of Extravagant de Doisy-Daëne was 1990. Pierre Dubourdieu remembers this slightly mad experiment: "My son Denis wondered what a Sauvignon noble rot, pushed to the extreme of its concentration, could give; at the time of the Doisy-Daëne Sec harvest, we left only two bunches per vine on a few plots and decided to wait as long as possible. When we harvested these grapes in early November, they were extremely concentrated, completely candied, slightly mauve in color, the skin digested by Botrytis, the pulp gathered around the pips. The sugar content was impressive; 36° to 40° potential alcohol. Pressing lasted two days".
