The winemaker

The Old Castle Certan dates from 1700, year in which it was founded by Jean Demay Certan. It originated, the field was much larger, but the French Revolution comes divide. In those early days, the area was considered one of the best Pomerol, often compared to its neighbor, Petrus Castle. The 14-hectare area stretches to the summit plateau of Pomerol and is the result of centuries of work and careful reflection. The legend of the Old Castle Certan now rests in the hands of the Thienpont family.
