The winemaker

The Artigue vineyards have several castles located on different terroirs of Bordeaux: Château Lauds AOC Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Chateau La Guillaumette AOC Entre-deux-Mers and finally Beaulé Castle, which serves as reception room with stunning views of the vineyards of Libourne. Artigue The family is winemaker for 4 generations, the Bordeaux region. They prefer areas with high diversity of terroirs to produce ranges representing all aspects of land they farm. Artigue The vineyards are vinified in organic farming, a commitment that is very dear to the family Artigue. Each variety is vinified independently to extract its full potential. Both vineyards, Chateau of Lauds and the Castle Guillaumette are planted with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, the Bordeaux varieties par excellence. Merlot still remains dominant, especially at Castle Guillaumette, where it represents 75% of red grape varieties. Only 3 hectares of vineyards are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon. The Castle of Lauds meanwhile is known for its strong typicality and its very pronounced woody character, making it a wine connoisseur, or as the saying Figaro, "advised of amateur".
