In a few words ...
Benefiting from a favorable south-western exposure to the afternoon sun, our "Bougros" Grand Cru parcel, the most westerly of the Grands Crus, is planted at an above-average density of 8,000 vines/ha. This results in greater competition between the vines, forcing them to dig their roots even deeper into the soil (up to 10 meters). Limited yields (around 45 hl/ha) are the second consequence. All in all, this fine terroir produces highly expressive wines. The clay-limestone soil is also more clayey than in other Grand Crus, and therefore has a high water reserve, revealing structured, expressive wines with great ageing potential.
