The winemaker

"My family has owned a parcel in the Auxey Duresses appellation since the 1950s. Since its acquisition, my elders have rented it out to various winegrowers. My parents decided to sell it.... I didn't want to let this heritage go, so I decided to run it myself and become a winemaker. I'd just graduated from business school and had no knowledge of the vine... so I went back to school and learned on the job. The first vintage was 2001. The estate covers 9 ha in the following appellations: - Auxey-Duresses reds and whites (more than half the estate), - Burgundy, - Pommard, - Chassagne-Montrachet - St Aubin 1er cru Perrières. I divide my time between the vineyard, the cellar and marketing."
