The winemaker

The history of Domaine Bart

Domaine Bart is a renowned family operation. However, it has only recently come into its own. Indeed, about 50 years ago, André Bart owned only 6 hectares of vineyards.

In 1982, André's two children, Odile and Martin, joined their father. In 1985, Domaine Bart took advantage of the dissolution of the neighboring domain, Clair-Däu, which was plagued by internal quarrels. The Bart family acquired prestigious parcels to complete their estate, which then reached its current surface of 21 hectares.

In 1987, Odile and Martin Bart founded a GAEC (Groupement Agricole d'Exploitation en Commun), in order to continue their father's work in the best conditions. This is how they continue to produce wines of very high quality, at affordable prices. Burgundy lovers know that they can find at Domaine Bart Burgundy wines with a good quality/price ratio.

The Domaine Bart vineyard

The Domaine Bart vineyard covers 21 hectares: 18 hectares are dedicated to red wine, with the Pinot Noir grape variety, and the 3 hectares dedicated to white wine are planted with 70% Chardonnay and 30% Aligoté.

The average age of the vines is 35 years and Domaine Bart produces an average of 100,000 bottles of wine per year. The farm is run in integrated viticulture, with methods that respect the environment. Its HVE (High Environmental Value) certification is in progress. Phytosanitary products are reduced to a minimum, in favor of natural compounds. Harvesting is done by hand.

The wines of Domaine Bart

The original Domaine Bart produced only the Marsannay appellation, which does not include any grand cru, although its quality has nothing to envy the great Burgundian crus. Today, thanks to the extension of its vineyard, it produces a wide and prestigious range of red, white and rosé wines:
