The Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair is a recent estate, having been created in early 2000 by Viscount Louis-Michel Liger-Belair, an agricultural engineer and oenologist, with the aim of taking over the management of the few vines remaining in his family's possession. In reality, however, it's a very old estate, drawing on over 200 years of family tradition in the service of Burgundy vines and wine in general, and Vosne-Romanée in particular.
