The winemaker

History


Domaine Dupasquier et Fils was founded in 1900 by François Dupasquier.

In the past, the estate was used for mixed farming. Over the generations, it has devoted itself exclusively to the cultivation of vines, in particular Pinot noir, Chardonnay and Aligoté, the king grape varieties of Burgundy.

With a view to producing authentic wines that reflect their terroir, the domaine is managed using the "lutte raisonnée" method. To support this, the vineyard obtained Haute Valeur Environnementale certification in 2020. The vineyard is grassed over on the slopes to combat erosion, treatments are kept to a minimum and ploughing is favoured.

The small surface area of the estate (10 hectares) bears witness to the careful and adapted treatment of the vines with a view to prioritizing the quality of the wines.

5 generations of winemakers have succeeded one another on the vineyard. Today, the two brothers Vincent and Thomas Dupasquier are at the head of the vineyard. Vincent looks after the commercial side of the estate, while Thomas looks after the vines.

These two passionate brothers have inherited a unique know-how and the work of several generations before them, and make their wines together.

Domaine Dupasquier et Fils produces 11 wines each year, including 4 whites and 7 reds.

Following Burgundian customs, vinification is carried out in the traditional way. The wines undergo pre-fermentation cold maceration, alcoholic fermentation in vats and malolactic fermentation in barrels.

The vineyard produces Bourgogne Aligoté, Bourgogne Rouge, Côte-de-Nuits Villages, Pernand-Vergelesses red and white, Aloxe-Corton, Nuits-Saint-Georges and 3 Nuits Saint Georges Premiers Crus.

A guarantee of quality and mastery of know-how, the domaine's wines are constantly winning awards.

The Nuits-Saint-Georges cuvée is typical of the appellation's terroir, the result of meticulous blending between several terroirs, giving a beautiful complexity to the wine. Elegance and power will only be enhanced by a few years of cellaring.

La cuvée Premier Cru Les Chaînes Carteaux comes from parcels located in the south of the Nuits Saint Georges commune adjoining Les Vaucrains, a renowned Premier Cru.
