The winemaker
The name of this wine family is closely linked to Nuits-Saint-Georges. The Chicotot are present in the town for ten generations and George, currently head of the field, is the seventh winemaker of the family. His father Lucien is with some others, like Gouges or Trapet, causing the controlled appellation system in Burgundy in 1936. He passed the reins of the estate to his son in 1971, one working for 15 years with Pascale , his wife. Lovers have the distinction of vinification separately, which creates a healthy competition between the couple and participates in the field of wine quality increase. The latter now has 8 hectares centered on Nuits-Saint-Georges, with plots of Ladoix and Aloxe-Corton, including 2 hectares 1er Cru. Georges and Pascale, respectful of their land and traditions, making wines from pinot noir to full maturity. The winemaking are long, without de-stemming grapes, and farms are in oak barrels. Wines are neither filtered nor glued or aerated during bottling because they are kept under carbon dioxide, which provides a natural protection.
