The winemaker

The story begins in the early 19th century. The Pauvelot estate was founded in 1893 and gradually began to specialize in vine growing. After the First World War, the 3rd name, Jean Pauvelot, took over the estate. He gradually began to bottle the "good wines" and organize their distribution himself. Grandfather Maldant married the Pauvelot daughter and gave his name to the estate. He also brought in vines from Aloxe-Corton and Ladoix. The sales cellar was built by Jean Ernest Maldant. Since 2009, the 18-hectare estate has been managed by Jean-Luc Maldant, the eponymous founder of the estate and the négociant brand, and his partner Arnauld Jobard.
