The winemaker

In July 2003, Guillaume d'Angerville took over the domaine left by his father after a lifetime dedicated to Burgundy and the great wines of Volnay. Described in the Bettane & Desseauve guide as a "major Burgundy producer of the twentieth century", Jacques d'Angerville vinified 52 harvests and made a major contribution to Burgundy's great development since the 1960s. He left behind a magnificently managed estate, benchmark wines and a genuine philosophy of great Burgundy wines. After his death, the d'Angerville family decided to preserve the integrity of the estate. Guillaume d'Angerville took over the Domaine in 2003, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. He is supported by his brother-in-law, Renaud de Villette, an agricultural engineer who worked alongside Jacques d'Angerville for fifteen years. In this way, the Domaine remains in the family, and the know-how of past generations is passed on in continuity.
