The winemaker

Pierre Yves Colin, a member of the family domaine marc colin et fils in Saint Aubin between 1995 and 2005, decided to set up a small independent grape-buying structure in 2001 with his wife Caroline Morey. Thus were born the Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey house wines with the 2001 vintage, for a total of around 1700 bottles. As the years went by, Pierre Yves decided to become independent in October 2005. Part of the family vineyard was then allocated to him, and the 6-hectare Domaine Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey was created. The first vintage was 2006. Wines from the new domaine were then added to the range of wines made from purchased grapes. Today, the company produces around 70,000 bottles, 2/3 from the domaine and 1/3 from purchased grapes. Our philosophy is to respect our soils and terroirs as much as possible, which is why we work the soil, do not use chemical weedkillers, and use a "lutte raisonnée" approach to protecting the vineyards. The wines are aged in 350-liter barrels for between 1 year and 18 months, with no intervention during this period.
